Challenge

The IPCC has issued a call to action to brands, to help achieve 5% rapid reduction in “demand side” carbon emissions. Consumers are up for the challenge and 88% of them would like brands to help them lead a sustainable lifestyle. In social media creators, we have an incredibly effective, and yet neglected, ​way to spark ​lifestyle change​. 78%​ of consumers have already been influenced by social media and 76% of creators want to mention sustainability more but need support and guidance to avoid greenwash. Unilever wanted to motivate creators to start modelling sustainable behaviours and accelerate the number of commercial briefs for creators linked to sustainable living.

Providing creators with science-based recommendations on the individual actions they can take to accelerate the adoption of impactful climate solutions to live more sustainably.

Solution

Futerra helped Unilever to build a coalition of social media platforms, brands and creators to develop a cross-platform solution that helps creators learn about sustainability, and helps brands find creators who are knowledgeable and eager to engage on these topics.

Impact

We aim to reach 1 billion people with sustainable lifestyles content and help brands and creators do well by doing good.
